Burnley Light Opera Society has been bringing the magic of musical theatre to East Lancashire for over 90 years. Since our first production in 1934 of “Rose Marie”, Burnley Light Opera Society has produced over 100 shows. We are one of the region’s longest-standing and most beloved amateur theatre companies.

We aim to inspire, entertain, and engage our community through high-quality productions of musical theatre, operetta, and more. From timeless classics to contemporary favourites, BLOS is proud to showcase local talent and share the joy of live performance with audiences of all ages.

Each year, we stage at least one major musical production at the Burnley Mechanics Theatre, featuring a mix of experienced performers and rising stars. Our creative teams work passionately behind the scenes to deliver professional-standard shows that leave a lasting impression.
